What is 192.168.29.1?

192.168.29.1 is a private IPv4 address used as the default admin gateway on most JioFiber home routers — the fiber ONT/router unit supplied by Reliance Jio. Jio runs these on the 192.168.29.x subnet by default. It's an RFC 1918 private address, so the admin page is only reachable from a device connected to your own JioFiber network, never from the public internet.

Note: this is the JioFiber home broadband address. Pocket JioFi 4G hotspots are different — those use 192.168.225.1 (or the hostname jiofi.local.html).

Default username and password

How to log in to 192.168.29.1 — step by step

1. Connect to the JioFiber router over its WiFi or by Ethernet, so your device gets a 192.168.29.x address.
2. Open a browser and type http://192.168.29.1 in the address bar, not the search box. Use http://, not https.
3. Sign in with admin / admin (or the credentials on the router sticker).
4. Make your changes — WiFi name/password, connected devices, restart — and save so the router applies them.

How to change your JioFiber WiFi name and password

This is the most common reason people open 192.168.29.1. After logging in, find WiFi or Wireless settings, edit the SSID (network name) and the WiFi key/password, then save. "192.168.29.1 not working" — fixes

• Not on the JioFiber network: Connect to the router's own WiFi or LAN first; mobile data or another network can't reach it.
• Use http, not https: The admin page is served over plain HTTP; an HTTPS redirect will fail.
• Turn off VPN: An active VPN routes your request away from the local router — disable it while you log in.
• Wrong subnet: If your device isn't on 192.168.29.x, you may be connected through a secondary router or extender, or the gateway was changed.
• Login rejected: Try administrator or your WiFi password, or check the sticker. Jio support can reset credentials if needed.
• Use the MyJio app: It manages the same router and can restart it without the IP.

Getting the best speed on JioFiber

Fiber delivers the same speed to the router regardless of WiFi, so most slowdowns are wireless. Place the router central and high, use the 5GHz band for nearby devices, and connect heavy users by Ethernet where you can.
