192.168.11.1 — Buffalo AirStation Router Login
Type http://192.168.11.1 in your browser while connected to your Buffalo router to open the AirStation admin page. Here's how to log in, the default password, and what to do when the page won't load.
What is 192.168.11.1?
192.168.11.1 is the default admin (gateway) IP on Buffalo AirStation routers. It is a private IPv4 address reachable only from inside your own network. Opening it loads the AirStation router admin page, where you manage WiFi names and passwords, the operating mode (router/AP), parental controls, port forwarding, and firmware.
Buffalo is one of the few brands to default to the 192.168.11.x range rather than the far more common 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x. That's deliberate — it keeps the router from clashing with other equipment on a typical home network.

How to log in to 192.168.11.1 — step by step
- Connect to the Buffalo router by WiFi or Ethernet. The default WiFi name and key are printed on the card or label that ships with the router.
- Open a browser and type
http://192.168.11.1in the address bar (not the search box). Usehttp://, not https. - Enter the credentials — on most AirStation models the default is
admin/password. Newer units may use a unique label password or ask you to create one. - Manage the router — WiFi settings, operating mode, guest network, port forwarding, and firmware updates.
Router vs AP mode — the Buffalo switch
Many Buffalo AirStation units have a physical Router / AP / Auto switch on the back, and you can also see the mode in the admin page. This matters for reaching 192.168.11.1: in AP (bridge) mode the Buffalo unit stops routing and takes an IP from your main router instead of 192.168.11.1 — so the default address may no longer open it. If the page won't load and you're using it behind another router, check your main router's device list for the Buffalo's current IP. Switching cleanly between modes avoids double NAT.
"192.168.11.1 not working" — fixes
- Use http, not https: The admin page is served over plain HTTP; an HTTPS auto-upgrade will time out.
- In AP/bridge mode: The IP has changed — find it in your main router's device list (see above).
- Wrong gateway IP: Run
ipconfigon Windows or check System Settings → Network → Details on Mac to read your real Default Gateway. - VPN active: Disconnect any VPN, which can block local subnet access, then retry.
- Forgot the password: Hold the reset button 10+ seconds to restore the defaults printed on the router (this wipes WiFi settings too).
